This is one of my favorite Christmas cards I made this year. It was my swap for Stamp Club and my personal Christmas card. I just love the glitz and glimmer with the simple message, "JOY." It has a lot more impact in person, as the photograph really doesn't do it justice. This card was made using items from the Holiday Seasonal Catalog: Bright & Beautiful stamp set, Stars Framelits, Lucky Stars Embossing Folder, Confetti Stars Punch. Additional items are Champagne Glimmer Paper, Very Vanilla and Baked Brown Sugar card stock, Gold Foil paper and Gold Embossing Powder. Liquid Tombow and Dimensionals played a big part in holding this card together! On the inside I placed the center part of the Champagne Glimmer Paper star centered just over the sentiment, "Wishing you a BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS & a NEW YEAR that SHINES with HAPPINESS" from the same Bright & Beautiful set. It was a lovely way to incorporate the theme from the card front to the inside.
I used Versamark ink to stamp the word "JOY" and emboss it with Gold Embossing Powder on the Gold Foil paper for a stunning look on the front of the card. The Gold Foil paper looks like the words were dry embossed, like the stars on the Very Vanilla card stock. It's a beautiful technique! Try it yourself!
Tips: Use your grid paper to line up and mark exactly where you want the words to be placed and thoroughly coat the Gold Foil paper with your Embossing Buddy to reduce static so you don't have stray bumps on your Gold Foil strip. A little Snail Adhesive placed on your grid paper where the Gold Foil strip will go helps to keep it in place while you are stamping. When gluing card stock to Champagne Glimmer Paper, use Liquid Tombow and hold for a bit to ensure tight adhesion.
