Annual Catalog Launch Party 2020

I have decided that my Annual Catalog Launch Party will not be a live event this year.  There are still too many unknowns with COVID-19, so out of an abundance of caution, my event will be offered online!  I am still working out the details as to exactly what I am going to offer and how, but more details will be coming soon.  Be sure to visit my newly launched Facebook Group, Sending Smiles Across The Miles with Susan Byington, for more interaction and information.  CLICK HERE to go directly to my Facebook group and request to join.

Elegant Ornate Garden Card in Old Olive

This gorgeous card was made using the new Ornate Layers Dies and DSP that is a part of the Ornate Garden Suite.  This entire suite is coming soon in the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, but is being offered for you early so you can get started playing with the new products.  All the products in this suite have been very popular, so I recommend you order them now, rather than wait for the new catalog release.  If you wait, you may be disappointed, as they could be on backorder and then you may have to wait a month or two longer.  The dies have already gone into backorder status for a couple weeks now, but are due to begin again shipping soon.  So may people have been excited to get this suite!  I am totally in love with the Designer Series Paper and these great ornate dies!  There are  several products in this incredible suite, including 2 stamp set bundles with dies, ribbon, gems, embossing folder, and Designer Series Paper.

Here is a close up of the detail in the dies.

You don't want to miss out on adding these lovely products to your stamping supplies!  Order yours today!  You may visit my online store here to see all the products included in this awesome suite.  I will be posting a demonstration video on how I made this card on YouTube shortly.  Check back here for the link.

Welcome Easter

These sweet Easter cards were made using the Welcome Easter stamp set (Mini Catalog)  and the Flowering Foils DSP from Sale-A-Bration.  I used Word Wishes Dies for the sentiment.  You can have a complete kit for making either of these cards with an order placed by April 5th.  You will have to do your own coloring with your Stampin' Blends Markers.  If you want the kit without placing an order, it is just $5.  You may choose either the chick or bunny design.  I have a limited number of kits available, so request your kit today!

I just had to share this sweet photo of my cats with Lacey (the Tabby) sleeping INSIDE the ball chase toy!  Guess she got tired of fighting for space in the bed with Luna!  Or perhaps she's been listening to her humans and is social distancing.  LOL!  ;)

Simple Happy Birthday to You Card

This is one of the cards we made at the Birthday Card Class on February 27th using the Happy Birthday to You Sale-A-Bration stamp set.  It is a simple version of the stepped up cards I usually make.  I used Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen to color the images.  The sweet little bow is the White Crinkled Seam Binding that I colored with a Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends Marker.  It dried almost instantly and was easy to coordinate with my project.

Adding another bow on the inside helped tie it together with the front images.  Ha! Ha!  Yes, I heard the pun as I typed it, but decided to leave it that way so you could giggle with me!  I usually like to decorate the inside with a small portion of the card front, but didn't want to use a flower, as I was doing this card without the dies.  I know I could have fussy cut it but I used the flower inside several other card designs.  This one is unique!  The inside sentiment is from Stitched So Sweetly.

Birthday or Anniversary

I am still in love with the FREE Sale-A- Bration stamp set Happy Birthday to You!  I have created multiple gorgeous cards using this darling set; each with a totally different look.  This past Thursday evening, I held a class where everyone created 3 different cards from this set and they had so much fun playing with different colors and tools!

This card is one of my favorites that I created from a challenge I gave my team to create different looks with this same set.  I think it just glows with beauty and would be perfect for an elegant birthday, golden anniversary or wedding.  I used our wonderful new Champagne Rhinestones to add a little bling and lots of shimmer with Wink of Stella.  Gold Foil accents the image that was embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.  The Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder background in Very Vanilla gives it even more elegance.

Here are a couple different angles so you can see the shimmer better.  If you enlarge the photo it gives you a better view of the shimmer.  Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of this elegant version.

Birthday Painted Poppies -- Happy and Bold

All the wonderful images in the Painted Poppies Bundle and the Peaceful Moments Bundle inspire creativity every time I see them!  I just love the power and simplicity of this card using the Painted Poppies stamp set and the Painted Labels Dies.  Those reds (Poppy Parade) just really pop (yeah, I hear the pun too!) against the Whisper White cardstock.  The flower heads were quick and easy to color in with my Poppy Parade Dark Stampin' Blends Marker and I topped it off with a little Wink of Stella on each one.  I didn't even try to use shading on those little flowers; just a solid coloring with the dark marker.  I did use both the light and dark markers to color the large poppy and the leaves.  The fun swirly die is a great accent for the sentiment from the By the Dock stamp set.  I also used a stitched circle for the sentiment from the Stitched Shapes Dies

The inside was kept simple with a bold sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set and just a peek of the field of poppies in the lower right corner.

Stamps:  Painted Poppies (mini p. 26), Peaceful Moments (mini p. 27), By The Dock (mini p. 49)
Paper:  Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Tools:  Die Cutting Machine, Painted Labels Dies (mini p. 26), Stitched Shapes Dies
Other:  Large & Small Dimensionals, Light & Dark Poppy Parade, Light & Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Markers, Wink of Stella

Painted Poppies!

Oh, I just love these Painted Poppies!  The stamps, dies and DSP are all incredible!  Check out the Peaceful Poppies Suite of products, including TWO stamp/die bundles!  Those sweet little sequins add just that perfect touch to your card.  Here is one of the cards we made in class this month.

I used those tiny gold flower sequins to finish off the poppy centers for that little extra bling!

This card is kind of outside my normal creative box, but I like to challenge myself to "break out of the box" in January to try new things or improve skills.  I normally like everything to be inside the lines, neat and precise; but this card called for a watercolor wash effect and some paint splatters.  I also moved the layers lining everything up evenly at the top and left, only showing the layers on the right and bottom of the card.  It's just a different presentation.  What about you?  Have you taken a challenge to try something new?  What new technique or skill have you recently tried?

Stamps:   Painted Poppies (Mini p. 26),
Peaceful Moments (Mini p. 27)
Paper:  Basic Black, Poppy Parade, Whisper White
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Poppy Parade
Tools:  Die Cutting Machine,
Painted Labels Dies (Mini p. 26)
Other:  Dimensionals, Light & Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends, Peaceful Poppies Sequins (Mini p. 25), Glue Dots
Technique:  Alternate Layering, 2-Step Stamping

All supplies from Annual Catalog unless otherwise noted.

Poppies and Valentines

Today I'm sharing a lovely selection of some of the cards I had fun making while recovering from a nasty upper respiratory infection.  It certainly made staying home and recuperating more fun!

I just decided to play and see where the inspiration led me.  I'm just crazy about the new Peaceful Poppies Suite!  These poppies are all so gorgeous!  Next I'm going to play with the Designer Series Paper.  It's so stunning, it is a card all by itself without even stamping!  All these poppy products can be found on page 25 of the 2020 Mini-Catalog.  I also pulled a "happy birthday" sentiment from By the Dock on page 49 and "How Did I Get so Lucky..." sentiment from Thanks for the Laughs on page 11.

By the Dock is a perfect masculine set by itself and I can't wait to explore that set and the coordinating dies soon!  I have a few masculine birthdays in February, so I'll be creating with it next.

Thanks For the Laughs is a great set of all sentiments sure to make the card maker and recipient giggle.  I'm sure when you read them all, some of them will strike you as perfect for a friend or two!

The bright field of poppies birthday card in the front was CASED from Michelle Robinson at www.mlbstampinup.blogspot.com.  I made a couple small changes to my card but her card certainly gave me the inspiration.  Thanks, Michelle!

More on each individual card later . . .
